A Typical Day at Precious Paws...

• All dogs arrive between 8am & 9.30am and will be separated into groups to suit them for supervised free play.
• 10am snack times/snooze time for those that need it and organised enrichment fun/one on one time! Activities to include (but not limited to) scent games, digging, tug ‘o’ war, ball play, ‘find it’, agility, water play or even just a fuss and a cuddle.
• 11.30 Mix the groups! An opportunity for all dogs to mix together – this gives puppies a chance to learn from their elders and smaller/larger dogs a chance to interact with each other if they wish. From spending hours with groups of dogs we have found that mixing can prove highly beneficial – especially to dogs that become anxious around dogs that are bigger than them for no apparent reason or a previous negative experience. Of course this is carefully monitored and only dogs that we feel would benefit and enjoy this will take part. For example, elderly dogs, very anxious dogs, more boisterous dogs or young/small puppies will be offered an alternative form of entertainment if we don’t feel this is suitable. Their wellbeing is our absolute priority.
• 12.30pm Lunchtime and nap time! Dogs that require lunch will be individually fed and all dogs will be encouraged to rest and re-charge in our cosy cabin or outside - weather permitting!
• 1.30/2pm free play, seasonal activities, whatever their hearts desire time. Trust us when we say your dogs will let us know what they would like to do – whether that be chasing balls, participating in treasure hunts, digging in the sand pit or playing with water! We have it all covered here.
• At some point during the afternoon, we will have cuddle time/chill time. Dogs that want to relax and enjoy will join, those who are still buzzing with the freedom will probably be outside playing with their buddies and Hoomans!
• 4pm-6pm home time – your baby will return home content, happy and very tired after a day with us!

WHY DAYCARE??

Interacting with other dogs in a controlled and positive environment offers a range of benefits. It teaches them essential social cues, such as body language and communication, enabling them to navigate various situations confidently. Through play, dogs learn valuable lessons in sharing, cooperation, and conflict resolution, enhancing their emotional intelligence.

Regular socialisation helps reduce anxiety and aggression, making them more relaxed and friendly around new faces, both human and canine. This is why we ask that your dogs come a minimum of once a week on a set day - they have friendship groups just as we do! 

 In addition, daycare provides much-needed mental and physical stimulation, preventing boredom and promoting a healthier lifestyle.
