PRECIOUS PAWS TERMS & CONDITIONS OF DOG DAY CARE
Our highest priority at Precious Paws Leicester is the welfare of all dogs and maintaining client satisfaction. We will endeavour to give you and your dog the best service we can. We welcome feedback, good or bad, from all our clients, so please do not hesitate to contact us if you disagree with any of the following terms and conditions (which apply, as appropriate, to all services we provide).
All dogs attending Day Care must undergo a trial prior to their joining in order for us to assess their energy levels, social behaviour, and to check for any signs of aggression or unsociable habits. Irrespective of the services provided, we require all clients to complete the Profile page within our app (one per dog), which will assist us in our assessment.
Accepting the provision of any services implies that you have understood and agreed to these terms and conditions.
Health and Behaviour
The Owner is responsible for ensuring that their dog is fully vaccinated and up to date with all worming and flea treatments.
We prefer all dogs (male and female) to be neutered, unless they are under one year of age. If dogs under one year display sexual behaviour, including marking, we may advise you that it may be an appropriate time for neutering. Please advise us if there is a reason why your dog cannot be neutered, and we will take this into consideration.
We do not accept bitches in season under any circumstances and request that owners inform us immediately if they suspect their dog may be coming into season. We reserve the right to return any dog that is in season.
Please inform us if your dog has any issues with food or toy possession, poor recall, constant barking, problems with house training, etc. This information is extremely important in helping us to assess the level of care your dog needs and whether training may be necessary.
Service Provision
Your dog will be socialised with up to 40 other dogs off-lead. All dogs are exercised and rested as necessary throughout the day, as too much physical activity can cause long-term problems. Please ask for more information if you require it.
Please be aware that dogs new to Day Care may experience higher levels of physical and mental activity than they are used to and may therefore come home extremely tired. In order to gauge the right level of activity for your dog, it is important that we receive feedback from you.
For dogs and puppies that require feeding during the day, owners must provide food along with full instructions. We do give treats throughout the day, so please be sure to inform us of any allergies.
Security and Emergency
We aim to provide a safe and secure environment for all dogs, as far as is reasonably possible. However, please be aware that, by the very nature of the services we provide, there are certain risks involved when dogs interact with other dogs, with people who are strangers to them, and in public places.
It is the owner’s responsibility to ensure that the collar provided is secure and tight enough so that the dog cannot slip out of it.
All dogs must be microchipped. Owners are responsible for ensuring that their dogs wear tags with a contact name and telephone number attached. Alternatively, you are welcome to use our name and number if you prefer.
In case of an emergency, you agree that we are authorised to seek veterinary care, where practicable, at your own vet or the closest available vet if necessary. We will, of course, endeavour to contact you immediately in the event of an accident. In any event, you agree to accept full responsibility for the cost of all veterinary care and to settle fees directly with the veterinarian involved. All costs, fees, and expenses incurred as a result of incidents or accidents caused by your dog will be the responsibility of the owner, and in any such case, you agree to indemnify us on demand against any costs we may incur for the purpose of securing treatment in an emergency.
Please provide Precious Paws Leicester with keys to your property for our pick-up/drop-off service if there is no one available to let us in. Your keys will be made available to all members of staff at Precious Paws Leicester for pick-up and drop-off purposes, and by providing us with your keys, you agree to allow us unaccompanied access to your property for the purpose of collecting and returning your dog. Please give us instructions on locking systems and alarm codes.
Working Hours and Bookings
Texts, in-app chats, emails, and messages left on the answerphone will not be counted as a confirmed booking unless Precious Paws Leicester has replied to confirm the message.
Regular Day Care slots will be invoiced at the start of each month and must be paid within seven days. Please use the invoice number as a reference.
Thirty (30) days’ written notice is required to cancel a regular or permanent Day Care slot. Cancellation with immediate effect is accepted only if paid in full for the next 30 days from the date we receive written cancellation.
Due to Precious Paws Leicester having a limited number of allocated slots, we require payment even if the dog does not attend. We allow a four-week grace period for holidays and sickness (a week being based on your dog’s usual attendance — for example, if your dog attends one day per week, the annual holiday/sickness allowance would be four days). Please provide notice of using this allowance where possible.
Precious Paws Leicester closes for two weeks at Christmas and on bank holidays. You will not be billed for these closures, and a minimum of 30 days’ notice will be given for the Christmas closure dates.
General
Any person who is not a party to this contract shall not have any rights under or in connection with it.
Accepting the provision of any services implies that you have understood and agreed to these terms and conditions.
